Default loosing the tune Haltech E6X ECU

I recently baught a car running a Haltech E6X ECU it had been tuned and was driving fine for ages but the guy tells me it sat for a little while and he thinks the tune went out of wack now its pretty much unable to boost without coughing like crazy!

im new to this aftermarket managment stuff and my question is i thought after a tune they were locked and couldnt just go to shit? could this be a simple case of fouled plugs or dodgy coilpacks as it still idles fine just cant boost it?

Haltech's are famous for dropping there tune, had a mate with an SR20DET that changed to a wolf after his haltech dropped its map a couple of times...

you bought Hitmans MA61 didnt you?
bugger, i was hoping that would sit away until march when i could buy it.......

Maybe they dont store the tune in solid state and drop when the battery goes completely dead or something? Maybe write to/call Haltec direct and ask them?

i have a e6k ( series before e6x ) and it has never ever dropped its tune, the car sits for months with the battery off. mine has misbehaved in the fashion you state when the map sensor line has been disconnected or leaking, id look there.

Mine dropped its tune a few times a while ago, but it was traced to a board that had cracked in the mounts and was short circuiting on the casing.

my e6x hasnt skipped a bit either. i have heard of them loosing tune but have not witnessed it yet.

i use TRG in beckenham to tune mine (dave is his name), he is a haltech guro and tunes a safe tune.

i think they are $150/hr but you would have to call them to make shaw. ive had tunes from $200-$600 from there before it all depends on how much they have to do and how long it takes.
im happy with them, my motor is still alive .
