Default help with tisonics car alarm.

well my fathers car alarm remote went flat.. so we changed the battery and now the remote does not seam to be talking to the main box in the car.. therefore not disconnecting the immobilizer.
the only thing that i can see that is different is that the led in the car (one on the dash) is no longer working.. but i cant see how this would effect it..

If anyone could help out i would be much appreciated.. i dont know much about car alarms and this is the first time in 4 years that this alarm has even had a flat battery let alone stopped working..

    cheers sam

With our alarm you have to re-learn the remotes with the alarm unit whenever you replace the battery. There should be instructions in the alarm manual as to how to re-learn remotes, but generally the process would be similar to:

    1) Set the alarm system into "programming mode" (some kind of ignition-switch on/off pattern or the like)
    2) Press the lock/unlock button of each remote in turn to tie it with the system
    3) Return the system to "arm mode"

Obviously it will be different for each alarm manufacturer, but the theory is most likely to be similar.

yeah i was under the assumption that that was the case.. my father tells me that he has replaced the battery before and have not needed to go threw this re learn process. i have immobilized the immobilizer however so the car is movable and on Wednesday i will ring up the offices and sort it out..

    cheers for your help..
