    they better work lol. I have 2 sets on the way for head and main.
    Project:RA65 with an engineered 1ggte conversion.

    Well they torqured up fine , it's not like they just hanging on, there is abut of meat in there.

    Celicasupra - these are 2j studs, arp don't have a listing for a 1g.

    I friend of mine said he has used 2 4a kits that work too, don't know if arp have diagrams and measurements for all the different kits.

    I just broke an arp headstud on my 1g anyone have any that could possibly help me out

    Yes I'm using the same kit, was up to 70ftlb and it just stretched and snapped, sux because I would have had the new forged motor in the car by the weekend

    Did you experience the same problem as 81hilux with the length of the stud and how much thread the nut bit onto?

    We did ours upto 64nm as per the stock numbers and no dramas.. But I haven't started it yet

    We just backed off the stud just enough for the nut to catch, we weren't even up to he box recommend torque settings yet

    The piece of paper I had came with the pack said to do upto 60nm.. Hmmm

    how far did the stud come through the nut?

    sorry we did it upto 60ftlbs not NM

    flush with the top, where it is, is how it was when it snapped.

    ok question... so we actually ended up torqueing the studs to 64nm no ft lbs. i know that is the std setting for the 1g.. should i leave it at that and at the first re-torque do them upto like 50-55 ft lbs? i am only using the std gasket with arp studs.
    i'm just worried about doing it wrong and it goes boom and i'm stuck again and having to save money to fix the bloody thing again.

    Dry, oil or moly?
    Yep, 70ftlb with moly compared to the stock 43ftlb/63nm can do that.
    The OEM can probably take 50-60% more if you're using oil.
