sorry guys
i made a mistake there
it should have read $250
All that plus the $100 CAMS licence if that hasn't be factored in...but yes would have to agree with Adam that it is great fun....the driving is one part but the overall team spirit is another reason to be part of it.
At a guess I reckon if only 2 teams are allowed to enter I could safely say that those 12 spots would be filled tomorrow if necessary!

That's true.......all about cutting costs where you can.

Although I will probably have to buy a CAMS one this year as we are planning to do the Phillip Island 6 Hour (if we can get a gig)
I'd be keen to get involved in these.
It looks like i've just purchased an AE82 Twincam Corolla that I am planning to put on a diet and fit out with some handling mods and safety gear for the sole purpose to get into some motorsport events
Apart from forking out some cash how does one get involved with a team for these events. I'd like to do the Philip Island 6hr as well if I have it track ready in time.

first thing is join a car club ,i recommend the toyota club as its cams affiliated and you can race nearly every weekend if your wallet can handle it
second is buy adam and me beer
third is buy more beer
then adam and i will have an executive meeting , to see if the beer was of good quality
thats about it ,
nostalgia is not what it used to be:
I joined the Toyota car club and attended the first meeting this year as well as drove my MS55 Crown to hanging rock after meeting you guys on the side of the freeway.
Looks like the next stage is beer then. I won't be able to attend the next monthly meeting at Autobarn but I should be there for the following one.

sorry justin
i was having another seniors moment there
when you get a minute to yourself have a look back through the previous six hour post's
from last year and the year before
all your questions will be answered there grasshopper as to how to get in to it
there are a couple of hill climbs coming up that you might have a look at
cheers

maybe its that time where we should ask who is keen for the winton 6 hour at this point?
then we can get an idea of our numbers.
justin the phillip island 6 hour is more awesome than the winton one in my opinion. better organised from the organisers.
terry baker from tcca organised a tcca/hillclimber team last year and i am sure there will be a spot there if you ask him early enough![]()
the winton 6 hr is the real one though
and its not as hard on the cars plus its warmer

I really want to drive the Phillip Island track (like badly!) so i'd definately want to try and get in for that as well if possible. Dont worry about not knowing me Ian, i've only been to 2 meetings/events and are still trying to work out who is who within the club.
I think i'll be picking the car up next week (provided there are no issues) and then it's off for club rego (being a 86 model) and after that the modifications begin!

good point that you put there justin
maybe we should look at getting some proper name tags to wear to events
we use them in the sprite club , but that's more to help old farts like me remember the names of people that we raced against and known for 30 years

We are getting a team together for the Island 6 Hour, and we are also doing the Wakefield Park 6 Hour in July.
