hi trev
all of the above
There is some discussion about trying the get the 24 Hour up again in 2011.
To assist Winton in attracting people to the event, what are some things that would attract you?
Consider:
* Time of the year
* Cost (per driver)
* rules / regs
And any other ideas?

Any tips of when, how much and problems with regs, or is that as good as it gets - LOL
Hi Trev
For me personally there is nothing that would tempt me to do the 24 hour. I was heavily involved in running a team for the Bathurst 24 hour some years back, and I know what's required. Sure this is club racing, but in a lot of respects so were the teams competing in the 24 hour.
Its too long, the logistics of running a team for that length of time are too big, and I really don't like the idea of driving around Winton in the dark with cars that are so much faster than me.
I fear there would be more incidents through poor lighting and fatigue and as a result it doesn't appeal.
I'd suggest do what the production car race has done at Bathurst... the 24 hour thing fell over and they reverted to a 12 hour race.. that is now quite successful and they might be able to build it to become a 24 hour again.
Why doesn't Winton do a 12 hour... from little things, big things grow.
i agree with you on all points there adam
the cost factor is what would put me off
it takes all year to get the funds to just run in the 6 hr ,
i estimate that it would cost more than triple the cost to do the 24 hr , it would be great if i could afford it
plus at my age, there are no parking bays where i can pull in for a nanna nap, and directions

Great feedback thanks Adam, your points are very valid, and it is worth listening to someone who has been there before.
Ian, you have plenty of money, everyone knows that, your red wine bill would be dearer
