Did this back in the 80's when 3T parts were still expensive. Only had to mill the valve pockets and get a one off gasket made for the RG pistons.
Thanks for that info W
I am on a really tight budget here so I think that bore out and hone for the 18rg pistons is the go.
I am not super concerned how much power this engine makes as it is only my first build. I would rather stay a little conservative and perhaps for the next one I build (if I do another) I may go the stroke etc way.
I have a couple of blocks available but the one I want to use has a little damage and the 18rg pistons should cover that.
I want to avoid having to mill anything down because I dont want to waste money so I am hoping that it just fits together.
Cheers
Nathan

Thanks 71. do you remember how deep you milled the valve pockets?
I am trying to get away without milling the pistons? but will put it together and see if they touch.
Although I am looking at a set of 89mm 3t pistons ready to go... just a few questions for the owner then we could end up going that way as this 18rg thing is a little hazey?
Cheers

what car is it going into couldn't put a 18rg in? it would save you alot of time and money would also go hard
