    There are 2 positions for the J160, but you find that the 1G is already set at the furthest forward one as the other option is for the 3S where the bellhousing mounting face of the engine is a little bit further towards the front of the car.

    Then there is a part which slides onto the remote shaft, which has the hole for the end of the gearstick to poke into.     Which is to say, that with the shifter moved to the most forward position, it'll sit 50mm further back than a standard W58 shifter (pretty sure teh A70s don't run a remote shifter?)

    MA70 is already 70mm ish back from stock MA61 position, so J160 will be 100mm further back from that

    This is correct. But I do understand that the position of the lever can be moved forward 50mm (I have seen it done with a is200 box).
