well I could see how it could be a good idea to strengthen things up, but I am completely unsure if it will fit in your application though.
Gday Fella's, was just wondering if the silvertop alloy block to bellhousing boss would fit my 16v block with e58 box? And if there would be any advantage in doing so. Just a question out of curiosity really as I have spotted them on the 20v's and have been wondering if tying my block and bellhousing together with one would be a good idea when running a lot more torque and power than standard?
Cheers Toymodders

16v blocks are the same as 20v blocks
Ok then, any one have any/one (are they a single piece or 2 halved?)
I'm keen to try it/them on my 4agte I'm building.
FWD won't need it as there is ample support by the 3 engine mounts anyway...
But yes it should fit
- KE70 Corolla Dx -
- 500hp+ 7AGTE 20V turbo -
- MRS/Hayabusa turbo **sold**
- TA63 3TGTE project in the build -
Ample support from the three engine mounts I can understand BLK20v, but why did Toyota add these for the 20v even though they were all FWD anyway?? Has to be a basic engineering premise for them surely not just because they look good?
So as the shape of the 20v sump is designed to go around the boss DX20VT and the 20v sump wont fit the 16 v block then the boss wont fit the 16v unless the sump is modified?
Simply the 20v boss fits the 16v block but doesn't clear the 16v sump?
As a curiousity/aside, 7AFEs have two-piece sumps with the upper alloy part extending all the way to the bellhousing as below:
Looks like it would provide similar benefit (along with increased oil capacity? 7AFEs have 700cc more sump capacity than 4AFEs, not sure about 4AGEs though), assuming it bolts up to the 16v block?
AE102 - Charlene the Old Faithful, Reborn
JZZ30 - Lexi the Spacecruiser, 1JZGTE>>3SGE. 200rwkw, hunting Skylines and n00bs in SS Commodores
ST162 - Charlie the non-ghey Celica, 3SGE>>4AGE. GOOOOOOOONE
AE82 - Rosie the Bitsa from Hell, 70.8kw atw. Has been converted into garage space and money at last
KE55 - Billie the Beast, sadly missed
I thought 16v supports had 2 bolts onto the block? Therefore I cant see that 20v one being much more useful/strong with a single bolt per side.
