    Default 1JZ TPS Sensor type

Ok so after lots of issues with my car ive had someone tell me the JZ TPS is a switch type and thus when wiring up a microtech to it you should only connect 2 wires brown and grey...

previously ive had it connected as a Variable Resistor Type which basically means connecting all 3 wires...

For those who dont know and want some extra info on how it works it is as follows...

    Switch type
At idle it will be closed and the ground circuit will be connected and then upon opening the throttle it breaks the connection and becomes open circuit...

    Variable Resistor Type
Runs 5v in and a signal wire back out as well as a separate ground wire... basically it gets a 5v supply into it and has a variable resistor inside the tps which sends a varied signal between 0 and 5v back to the ecu to give a precise throttle position...

this is all to my understanding and could be wrong but thats as i understand it...

So being that its a 4 wire sensor ive been thinking it would have to be a variable resistor type...

    any ideas?

I'm keen to find out also... I have a microtech hooked up to a 1jz and I'm wondering if the TPS is wired properly (engine runs like crap for a few different reasons atm)...
