I'm getting over 10-15% less fuel economy versus 95RON, but yet the price is a mere 7ish% less.
Thus, it is more expensive for me to run E10.
Thus, E10 is shit.
I've been using it e10 for over 3 years, it's ideal for daily drivers IMO... the very slight lack of performance doesn't matter while commuting, and the slight lack of economy is evened out by the cheaper price. For me it works out about the same value as regular 91RON, but I get less pinging... and save 10% of crude for future generations![]()

...... butt scratcher?!
^^^^^^ this man speaks the truth.
95RON is the best in terms of value vs economy hence why I stated earlier that it was the actual best choice for a daily. Thankfully most punters just go for the cheapest without doing the research into the economy side of things or they would add a few more cents to 95RON for sure.
E10 plays havoc with my soarers fuel gauge.
its done it twice. just makes it read full empty the amount a different amount and just constantly jumps around.
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are
E10 is pointless. Savings vs. usage nowhere near adds up. Performance loss too (regardless of retuning as it's still a low octane fuel).
E85 is where it's at![]()
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
Random hero,
I agree E85 is where it is at, however we get E10 in 100ron (mixture of 98 with e10) therotically there should be a performance gain with this fuel over 95 and 98
Roger
I think you will find that 100RON is 95RON with 10% ethanol if it's E10 as it only takes 5% ethanol to raise 98RON to 100RON as that is what the old V-Power Racing fuel was. 10% ethanol into 98RON would be about 102RON.
Doesnt make sense... E85 is only 105RON.

it's not a linear relation
what Vito said... much like mixing coolant and water in terms of the boiling point, small variations in the concentration of the additives can make big differences. It's more about the detonation resistance that the small amount of ethanol provides rather than quantity itself.
i did some research befor e10 is only 93ron so only worth it if you filling up 91 but most of us use 98
Working with E10 sucks balls when changing fuel filters it burns so much more and ive seen so many newer cars with fuel pump issues and also fuel filters falling apart cause the ethanol eats the glue that holds it all together (internally)
since seing this have never even wanted to try to run ethanol in my cars here in sydney ive only ever seen 91Ron E10 never even knew they made a 95 or even a 98 i knew of E85 but only a few people are using.
From what ive seen ethanol sucks and wouldnt recomend it to anyone
the octane number can vary greatly from station to station with E10. it depends on the base fuel used and any additives etc. Most E10 in sydney is now shitty low octane petrol + ethanol to give a final RON of 91
