all the V6 commodores I've scabbed that part off have been screw-in. they have a good water proof plug too.

cruzida: is that a bosch (camira) versus delco (GM) thing? Am fairly sure the GM units all had a gas taper thread.
Couldn't say for sure Chuck, but I'm 99% sure it was from a Delco Camira, as I think I pulled it from the same car as I got the harness/ecu/etc from.

After ordering some air temp sensors from Holden and going through the parts with the staff there I can confirm that the VT Commodore in V6 and SV6 and 5.7L V8 does not use a threaded IAT, it uses a small clip in style one.
The IAT sensor with the 14x1.5mm thread is from the V8 VS Commodore and sells for $20 from Holden.
