    Default 1975 Series 1 RT104 Corona - T Series LSD?

    Hi everyone!

I bought a standard 1975 RT104 Corona (series 1). I then put an 18RG in it. After about 2 weeks the diff started to whine (looks like it doesn't enjoy having twice the power lol).

I did some research using a database on here to find out that series 1 RT104 supposedly came with the T-series diff (T292) and a 4.1:1 ratio.

My plans are to get the diff rebuilt and while it's apart get an LSD put in.

Has anybody put an LSD in an RT104 before?
Can I use the same T-series LSD's that they use in their AE86s with their T-series?

    Thanks alot,

    Stephen

Hi. I just recently purchased a JDM T series LSD through eBay, which was from a Jap importer in USA, which was posted direct from Japan.
The pre 1985 AE86 had the smaller axles, called Zenki axles, later had larger and more splines, called Kouki axles. You will need to know size and number of splines on your axles first, unless another member can tell you.
The LSD cost me $360 AU including post.
If you are interested I will pm you sellers details.
I am not connected to seller other than being a happy customer

    Regards
    Tony

    Thanks for the info

That price seems pretty good too.

I wonder if my diff is the same as the RA23 and RA28?

    What LSD do they use?

Anyone else got some more info?

    Cheers

Surely somebody has put an LSD into a series one RT104 or knows the exact details of the diff?

    Its an F series

I have a 3.9 4 spider slippery if you want to convert it.

Here is rear end complete with the rear discs it should have had in production.

And the Factory rear stab bar.

The trick is to make a spring steel ciclip to act as a spacer so you can use your own Corona bearing retainer plates and you dont have to split the bearings off to fit the Avanti retainer plate.

    Hi RT104GT,

First of all I would like to say your car is awesome!

Also thanks for seeing this thread and commenting.

As far as I can work out from my reading of different threads and databases my diff is a
    T292 diff with a 4.1:1 ratio.

From everything I have gathered it seems the F series diff (4.11:1 ratio) that you are talking about only came in the RT104 GT and not the standard RT104 that I have.

I will try and get some pictures of my diff uploaded soon.

    Thanks again,

    Stephen
