    Default Twin SC14s on a 1UZ?

    Simple question:
    1UZ + 2x SC14 = awesome?

Roughly how dumb is this idea?

On a scale of 1 to an SR20DET in an AW11 I'd say it is in the upper end of the scale. Surely just 1 big charger would be cheaper ie much less custom fab for manifold/piping etc.
    If in doubt power out

And more efficient, the old SC blowers are so innefficient compared to modern options.

I'd much rather the 1200CC Milennia charger... I know its small but it'd shit all over two very innefficent blowers.

Second hand M90 or an M112 if you could source one would be the go

Ed, i havent done any math or engineering on this but SC14s came of around 2 litre engines so with a 4 litre 1 uz it think it would bwe a good match and you would get in the order of 7 PSI using the SC14s normal operating speed, posibly up to 10 with some overdriving.

i can see issues tho possibly it packaging, how the drives would be set up and balancing them ie one from the other.

i would suggest you run them in parralel NOT series and into a common plenum NOT one per bank of cylinders, oh and dont forget some intercooling...especially if you want to wind up the boost, oh and some ECU

really there a better superchargers you could whack on a 1UZ for the sake of simplicty and efficieny, but i do like the idea of twin and keepin it toyota

EDIT, in my waffling i was beaten to the punch 1

anyway forget about this and keep your mind on the adub !

Yeah was just thinking about it after I tripped over the SC14 sitting my foyer on the way to pick up a 1UZ....another SC14 wouldnt be many dollars.

I know there would be lots of other bits and pieces, but Id need all of those bit with any supercharger, which is on the cards for another day. Just curious about how well these suckers would match a 1UZ.

I give no fark for handling, the 1UZ is going in the pimp mobile not the adub!!

might be physically too much to hang off the sides or on top. The on paper power output of the 1G-GZE doesn't look that appealing either.

Still potentially a 36% increase in power over a 1UZ. Considering I dont want to have to upgrade much else, especially the transmission, 36% aint bad.

Yeah saw that, tempted to but not for this car. The pimp mobile needs its auto for the column shift pimpness anyway.

Yeah but I got this 1UZ with trans/ECU/loom/extractors for $1000 and Ive got that many other things to spend money on I cant justify spending $1,500 on parts for another day.

CanAm style ITB's sticking out the bonnet? Retro (to go with the 70's pimp thing), would sound good but highly impractical... then again, that's what the Century is all about?
