Default GA61 tacho wires (wiring in tacho booster)

Just wanting to know where the easiest place to wire in the booster would be, I think both wires i need to connect to are located in the drivers side kick panel, but i am unsure what ones they are. From my 1GGTE engine

Also for the booster is any relay ok to use or does it have to be the speficic one from the guide?

car is a GA61 Celica Supra with a 1GGTE Original engine was the mighty 1GEU

    Cheers

    Any relay is fine.
Use the IG- wire from the Diagnostics box.
Trace that back to the main 30pin plug behind the glovebox.

There are plenty of wires coming back from the diagnostics box, but only one is the tacho wire (IG-)

As for finding the original wire, find the original loom, and trace the negative side of the coil back to the plugs behind the glovebox. This wire will connect to the tacho.

They are normally plain black wires.

Excuse my ignorance but Are there any diagrams showing what wires come from the diagnostics box?

Thanks mate, ill have a look in the day tomorrow, I had a look today, I think there are 3 wires coming off the coil/igniter one of those must be the negative and ill just trace that back to the drivers side kick panel.....

It won't go to the drivers side kick panel.
Behind the glove box is where its at.

    ^^ just to point out
after hours and hours of searching wires behind my glovebox
in my 81' MZ11 , the tacho wire was in teh drivers side kick panel leading up to the dash.

Triptek can back me up on this, Some MA61 XX / Z1 soarers have them there instead.

    weird.

mine was totally black coming from the drivers side kick panel heading towards the dash.
the loom it comes from ran through the drivers side fender.

    Right was doing this today.

I ran a wire from the IG- on the dianostics box, to the black wire on one of the plugs guage clustor, that was solid black. Didnt send any signal, And i haven't wired in the taco booster, It should still show some revs tho?
