    ST185 Vs ST202 rotor comparison

    ST185 on the left.

ST202 is on top. it has more inner fins

So can u use ST185 with ST202? technically u could BUT from what i've tried u cant.
I've got a SV21 (camry) and the st185 calipers and rotors go on beautifully. but i want to run the ST202 ones. but i have a 54mm hub centre, so getting the st202 rotor machined out a few mm in the hub to fit a hub ring etc is to tedious. i tried it with a st185 rotor and beautiful.

EXCEPT i cant get both bolts on to hold the caliper as they sit in a bit further when bolted to an SV21 hub as opposed to a ST202 hub. i'll show u some pics tomorrow as i cant get any good ones now as its too dark.

what i'm going to have to do now is make the st185 rotor smaller a few mm so that they all fit on nice and snug. your best bet Adam, is to test fit them on your car. or if u wait a day i'll grab u some measurements

my best angle to get st185 rotors in 4x100 was to get DBA 5000 series 2 piece rotors and have them whip up a 4x100 hat. but not really a budget option.

Above and beyond the call of duty da_horse - thanks so much!
If I could give pos rep twice in a row I would

Would be good to know whether I'm gonna need a bit shaved off the edge of the ST185 rotors, coz they're in melb (at Meridian), my calipers are in Syd (left them at my parents' place damnit) and the car's with me in Canberra. Not easy to just experiment you see

There is one thing I don't get though - if you already have ST185 calipers, why would you want to use ST202 ones? Are yours the single-piston oz-spec 185 ones?

I have Aus spec ST185 GT4 brakes on my SV21, which are just single piston ST184 brakes post August 1991

Not sure if the JDM twin pot ST185 calipers are the same as the ST202. However I do know that the ST185 twin pot rotors were smaller than the ST184, I think the same size as the SV21 Camry
