Okay i have an ST185R GT4, i looked around the standard rim size was 15" and 215/50/R15 tyres on them, the old owner has now put 18" rims on there, was wondering, with the new law change, from memory 15mm>/< maximum overall diameter, in sa, how do we work this out, is this total rolling diameter with tyre, i.e lower profile higher rim vs high profile low rim? (215/15" vs 205/18" etc)?? rims and tyres im lost at, any help appreciated =)

Jealousy is a curse
yeah sussed one out already, but if the 15mm is the case, then the lowest i.e 16" is ~30mm increase..??
nah your allowed 2 inches bigger on the wheel.
if you want bigger then you can get em engineered and that costs $400.
as for legal heights ring regency and ask as the new laws have 'eyebrow heights'
so its specific for each car.
ah i thought transport sa etc changed it to this new rule:

okay so it seems the 15mm is rolling diamater
yes thats right they did, The outer diameter of the wheel has to remain within 15mm of the factory specifications. I know this because i got pulled over with 18's on my cressida and I was only allowed 17s if the +2 rule was still in, the cop told me all about it. Only good thing that came from my defect lol.
sweet but 15mm isnt even a mm...
Uh, do you understand what rolling diameter is?
