well i have a lift up there on the truck organised....

but my back is still a real problem, and my work is now suffering for it. i really need to be resting instead of rooting around on the car.... it should only need a dizzy and a thorough wash after rob roy's disappointment but there were a couple of small wiring issues too that i would really like to look at so i can see myself up late in the shed all week again sorting it out.

plus the gearbox is on its last legs, and the ex wont let me bring my daughter to any track days cos its just "too dangerous" and saturday is my day with her


we will see, at least i can make my mind up on friday nite if need be

there will be plenty of people to help keep an eye on your daughter if you want a run
dont tell the ex where you are going , tell her that you are going somewhere else , would she be as concerned if you were taking her to the footy ? thats more dangerous than skydiving , i feel you pain with an ex dictating terms , i went through that shit with two little ones ,and even after 27 years she is still trying to fill the kids head full of lies about me , and as a result i havnt seen my daughter for eight years and have two grand children that i havnt met , sorry about getting off topic ,

Andrew that sucks about the ex. If there is one thing you can learn from going to any motorsport event it's that the people who attended are generally family orientated and great people in general it would be good if your ex knew that.

On another note how strict are they on the helmet front mine is dot approved and the same as the Australian sold model but cost me half the price but no aussie sticker. I guess I'll just have to bring my old one?

they sure are family orientated... heaps of ppl bring their kids & the little one is always begging to come and watch! i have told the ex that one of my parents will be coming to keep an eye on her while im on the track, but thats apparently not enough. realistically she is just being difficult, there is more chance of her being hurt being driven around to kinder etc than being a spectator at a properly organised track day

unfortunately i generally have to have her back by 1pm so if i want her all day i have to go through the ins & out of where we will be and what we are doing etc... and she will come home full of stories about car racing so saying we went somewhere else isnt an option.

i feel your pain ian, its the lies & bullshit their heads get filled with by the mum that i reckon do the most damage to having a good relationship with ur kids in a split family

if i can organise to have her on the sunday instead i will try to come otherwise ill have to give it a miss. of course asking to switch days results in the usual guilt trip about how cars shouldnt come first...... its all good fun

Hey Ian, is that Shell at Bunker Hill the new one just past Wallan on the Hume or is it the new one near Craigieburn???

I'll was planning on leaving at 6 to get up there for 8.30ish but is that too early? (i suppose with the drivers briefing happening at 10 it may be but would rather get there / set up / and get the car scrutineered all prior to 10)

That's my plan too... prefer to get there early.. get scrutineered.. and sit around with a coffee... than rush doing it all last minute.
