sleepercorty: is that setup above going to get an ecu at some stage? Seems strange to go single with aftermarket coils and leave stock ecu?

yeh might get computer one day, but was cheaper to do bosch coils than buy new 1jz ones. the standard coils were faulty it was done before he bought it, it actually had a kkr430 on this car but was leaking badly so he went to this turbo instead

I have used one of those Garretts on a 3RZ. They are T3 stage 3 turbine with 76mm T4 compressor and TO4S cover. Same as KKR430/480 but made by Garrett in mexico. Similiar sizing to a 3076 but old style wheels and plain bearing. Pretty good value for $1k.

I have run a chinese 35R plain bearing on a 1JZ manual with stock ecu and 440cc 2JZ injectors and made 382hp atw on a mainline.
You will always make more power out of a std ecu on a non VVt 1/2JZ, the ecu will feed way more timing in then any tuner would dare to and has knock control to save from disaster.

With no fuel control / interceptor (SAFC, eManage, etc...)?? or resetting of base fuel pressure??

SAFC. Final setup and boost increase is done on the dyno with everything logged.

I think i've been persuaded on these TA3410s.. just a decision of 0.63 or 0.82? Does anyone have any dyno charts of the 0.63? If its going to be more responsive and still plenty of power, then i'd rather go the smaller option?

Ended up with a secondhand blitz manifold, should have it in a couple of days, along with some 2j injectors

go a .63 housing as the .8 boosts about 4-4500rpm

hmm that does make it harder decision, its hard to guess what sort of lag it will have but id imagine the .63 would be around 3200rpm and the .82 closer to 3800rpm maybe. you will probably loose at a guess 20-30hp in the top end with the smaller housing but like i said hard to tell comes down to alot of other variables.
but if its a daily and you want response i would go the .63

you also need to decide if your going to use aftermarket computer later on as if you can put up with alittle lag now it will improve a fair bit with tunability

.58 seems to work pretty well on the KKR 430 on a 1JZ so I guess a .63 would be a good choice. The .58 KKR just feels like std twins for response and power delivery.

Sleepercorty, can you get exhaust housings seperate for the turbo, i am after a .82 for a mates 3RZ.
