Yah, please note the new australian standard for helmets.

Full or Open Face Helmets bearing any of these standards are acceptable;
SNELL SA 2000, SA 2005, SFI 31.2 (US)
SNELL M 2000, M2005, SFI 41.2 (US)
BS 6658-85 Type A (British)
SNELL 2000/2005 - SFI 31.1 (US)
BS 6658-1985 Type A/FR (British)
AS/NZS 1698/2006 (AS/NZS 1698) < Note this new standard

if it only has a Australian standards sticker on it then it must be AS/NZS1698 (note the NZS) (The old standard was AS1698, and is no longer acceptable).

If you have any of the other listed stickers on it then its also fine, hopefully we have scrutineers with at least half a clue.

if you plan on doing other racing, id get a full face helmet also.

Hmm, I may have to purchase a helmet, I'd be very surprised if the helmet I was planning to borrow had that on it. Damnit.

Just checked the helmet I was going to borrow. No good, only AS1698. I'm toying with the idea of picking up one from Ebay, my only concern is it not arriving in time.

Just go to the place I mentioned guys, $90 for a helmet isn't exactly a lot.

It's not, I just have to get organised. I've got no time over the next few days. I might call them though so I can make it a quick in and out trip.

If its still like when I was in there, theres a huge pile of them in different colours and sizes up against the back wall, walked in, asked for one that fit, tried a couple and left within 10 mins!

Still, best to give them a call, for all I know 100 vespa drivers walked in and took them all away.

i got mine from my mate @ 5 Star Yamaha in that place....ummmmm on rockingham road, got mine for 120 i think it was, full face, RXT Helmet, looks nice too!
