sorry i ment to say air filter and throttle body![]()
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to remove the air flow meter unit between the air filter and inlet manifold to lessen the air flow restriction for the s/c ?
Is there a mod of this kind ?

yeh man, buy an aftermarket map sensor ECU.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
Yeah you'll have to buy an aftermarket MAP sensor and then get your computer retuned
You can't retune the stock ECU.
You'll either have to swap over to a MAP 4AGZE loom and ECU (and the associated stuffing around) or install an aftermarket ECU (with that stuffing around) as fixeruperer said.
You can use a bigger airflow meter.
I used the housing from a Mazda 2.2 litre 626 (they are the same housing as the 3SGTE) and put the circuit board and inlet air temperature sensor from the GZE AFM into and set spring tension until it felt about the same.
Then I used the JAYCAR Digital Fuel Adjuster to fine tune it.

ah ,ok thanks for the input guys, i have a gze loom off another spare engine without this AFM and a 8860 ecu so i guess its time for a trip to the dyno next week
the engine i have is an original jap import 4agze in an mr2 with coil and distributor hence the AFM .Question is can i just swap for my other coil packs with the other type distibutor, ignition modual etc etc of the other ae101 gze engine i have laying around , plug it into my ems8860 (which i had on this loom beore in another mr2 ) and dyno tune it just like that or is there gunna be vacum hose etc mods required also as i noticed this is diffrent between both setups ?
