move the starter to the other side of the block?
Hello all, just put my turbo manifold on and noticed that it is sitting directly on the starter solarnoid. I am using a 230mm flywheel and a bigport starter. My question is can i use a Corona or Celica 225mm flywheel starter and do either starters solarnoids face down towards the sump. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
move the starter to the other side of the block?
Yeah thats the problem i already have a Niteparts bellhousing and the mounts are on the exaust side only.
Any other sugestions.
No that's about it, I'm not certain if the Bigport starters are a reduction drive ones like later models but if they are you don't have much choice unfortunately. S-series starter motors are all on the gearbox side so they will be no good to you.

What manifold is it can you post pics?
Its quite likely it will be able to be modified, but if its a cast iron manifold anything but not touching it will weaken it.
maybe sell your current one and look for something else that works with the starter on that side
Cheers Casey and Talasas for the replys, took some photos today so you may get a better idea. The manifold is i think a Azcustoms high mount.
