The days of just replacing them with another used one is quickly coming to an end. Almost everyone that has a car that uses these nowadays is running some sort of overdrive pulley on them, and when they get used up, they aren't worth squat.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Ditch the toy roots blower and go to twin screw, the time and effort in rebuilding the SC12's would be a decent down payment to a better, more efficient twinscrew unit

Even Magnuson is much better alternative. It all comes down to cost tho.

Just squirt some spray paint on the worn rotors, should fill in the gaps nicely

If anybody has a spare blower sitting around in QLD, I will take the rotors in and get a quote for you guys.

Dear Q-Authority. I don't know about the US rebuilder but some years ago I purchased a so called reconditioned item and when I dismantled it when I got home I found it was in worse condition than the item I gave them as exchange. I was told all they do was get a lot of worn units and assemble the best parts to make their so-called reconditioned unit. I ended up getting my money back and put my old unit back in.

The challenge is getting correct and consistent coating thickness where the lobes meet the casing and each other. 0.1mm to much and it gets ugly. 0.1mm not enough and your supercharger will have massive internal leakage.

they coating is designed to wear away initially to be a good fit.
perhaps you could help the process somehow

I'll send you some emery tape to help speed up the process, if you like?

The rotors are some kind of aluminum alloy. The 'fluorine resin' (so called teflon coating) on the rotors is up to 0.5mm thick in places. Its more like a 'cast on' layer than a sprayed on coating. Typically 'coatings' that can be applied by high tech coating outfits will be a fraction of this thickness. I haven't yet come across anyone who can 'recoat' these rotors with an already set up process.
