are all your plugs/points etc. clean and fresh?
its either fuel or electrical.
it maybe fuel, because as the engine needs more fuel, it leans out and drops/stalls, maybe one of your fuel filters or injectors are/is bung?

Hey guys,
I recently done 4age conversion to ae86 and it keeps dying when i rev it around 3 to 4 grand and then comes back down to 2 grand ? what would cause this ? bad timing ??

Hmm what conections you talking about, talking about spark plugs ? could be that, but they all seem to be sparking
feels like might be petrol problem, i had to put on pump before fuel filter, could it be that because the old 4ac didnt have one ?.
Im also currently running straight from extractors, still yet to put rest of piping on
Also could off i adjusted rev limter by mistake ??

this may sound stupid but may have something to do with bubble or air pockets in the water line as my car did the same thing and after sorting water problem out it was all fixed
you mean air pockets in fuel filter ?
double check all your wiring, if it has beeen like this since the conversion, it is likely something is wrong.
check your fuel pressure. low fuel pressure will not allow enough fuel to be squirted in to get up in the rpm.
check you have the correct injectors for the ECU (high impedance low impedance)
and also check the remarkably similar thread that was on toymods less than a week ago![]()

you most likely have the incorrect ignitor, or it is faulty. the ecu is operating in limp mode

Could it be timing ??
a mate of mine did a 4age conversion to his sprinter and had the same problem, he had to replace his whole fuel line with a lager diameter line, standard sprinter lines are to restrictive
but does yours actually bounce at 4000rpm like a rev limiter, or does it just seem to die,
if it just seems to die its the fuel line
It never dies
I pretty sure its coil ingnitor, samething happend to this guy http://www.celicatech.com/forums/printthread.php?t=208
Anyone know if i can use fwd 4age one ?
but people are running turbo 4AGE's with more than double the power on stock lines???Originally Posted by ae86 slide
your friends 4AGE was making more than 200rwkw?
maybe his lines were fucked, instead of being too small.
