i get that you are getting more negative camber but...

an ra40 strut by itself is closer to 90 degrees than what an ra60 strut is so if you were to put an ra60 strut onto an ra40 (ra28/3) you would get unwanted posittive camber.

so if you try these mx62 lower arms in the ra40/28/3 you would get a bit of negative camber with the associated strut.

but if you use the ra60 strut in place of the original strut, which ordinarily by itself would give too much positive camber, combined with the mx62 lower arms (by itself, too much negative), would this be close to equalising the camber issues.

I know a camber top would pretty much set it right but the ra60 strut has all these usefull uses for brake upgrade choices which is why i am curious.

Then to fix the legal issue of going well beyond the reccommended maximum front track width that laws allow, it could possibly be bought back into check by using a high offset wheel?

does this make sense or do i sound like a complete noob that still has no idea how to play with suspension (but wants to learn.)

if i put a ra60 strut and ra40 strut up against each other there wont be much difference between each other ,so i follow to under stand your comment ,you will only get positive camber if you put a smaller arm like 20 mm smaller than std 1,as soon as you put a longer arm in you will always get neg camber and also will get postive toe out with the longer arms, the wheels point out wards, it wont change caster at all

also just a note with the cressida arms you will get between 2 and 3 degress neg plus neg strut tops and you will up to 5%neg

I was also under the impression that the RA60 strut had more positive camber if put in the same installation as an RA40 strut (ie the stub axle and the strut have a greater angle between them on the RA60). It would be good if someone who had access to both could measure them, I've heard this from a few people but never seen conclusive evidence.

Also by installing the sigma control arms this will push the tie rod further out laterally thus reducing its effective length and giving more castor (ie it pulls the wheel forward).

You should always check wheel alignment when changing suspension components, a bad wheel alignment can make an otherwise worthwile mod feel like total crap!

Shortening the arm by 10-15mm should have a similiar effect as moving the strut top outwards so it should help somewhat shouldn't it?
Thanks for the reply i appreciate the help!

And if you did how? I havnt tryed anything yet but im after some neg camber so any advice would be appreciated. Cheers...

    G'day,

I have an ra40 which I use in hillclimbs and track days, it has some positive camber which is resulting in understeer and scrubbing out of the outside of tyres.

Would sigma LCAs fix this problem? A local wrecker has some on a GE sigma available. Is the lca, balljoint and nut all that is needed to install these on my car?

    Thanks,
    -wal
