Shouldn't be an issue, it's only really an issue when they are trying to occupy the same space
When you lower a car, the steering arms and rack act on a different plane then they were designed to and this can cause what is commonly known as 'bump steer.' Bump steer is dangerous in large amounts and to correct it you put a spacer in-between the strut and steering arm. This spacer is commonly called a 'Roll Center Adjuster' (aka. RCA)

    OK Simon & old_school_jap1,

You've both been a great help so far and I really appreciate it but now I've got a really dumb question for either of you to help me out with.

I should probably post this question in the dedicated Corona/Peugeot/Hilux Conversion thread but too many people read that and will think I'm a doosh.

What holds the brake pads in the callipers?? They just seem to slide straight in the tops of the callipers without anything holding them in except for that thin wire clip?? Does the brake pressure stop them from coming out?

I'm used to undoing an end bolt on a calliper and opening half of it up to get the pads in...but these seem to be very different...

    Thanks,

Once the pads are in position there are two pins that slide through from on saide of the caliper, this holds them into position. Sounds like you're missing these 2 pins and also the small clip that stops these pins from coming out..

Best to get to a wrecker and have a look. Just about every car is the same principle...

    Cheers,
    Simon
