I thought they went up conrod not down. That what hill climb people do. Imagine the insurance quote to hold an event like that and the type of licence you would need hold to do that type speed down conrod.

They run super sprints down conrod straight, through the chase and over the finish line, however they don't start at Forest Elbow, there is a dip in the middle of conrod and they start there.

Still a mate in his SS Ute gets 220 odd through the chase.

That picture of the cars should go straight to the pool room.

Rona's statement has reminded me I need to get around to fitting my speed cut remover before the next Wakefield day. I was hitting 170 on the main straight (this was indicated speed as I was running smaller tyres).

I didnt get all my time slips, I know i had two just over 8.0 though as I had the usual difficulties with the R154 and 3rd gear. Then 2 x 7.8's and a whole bunch of 7.6x's. 60 ft times were hopeless my best for the day was 1.98s.

The 7.54 was against the panelvan. What a race! closest run for me all day.

Times seem to rise after lunch, i couldnt get the traction i wanted - having to feather the throttle all the way through 1st and 2nd gear, only able to mash the loud pedal once in 3rd. i tried different burnout styles and let the tyres down progressively to as low as 8 psi (scorching hot) to no avail.

I think slicks are the only way to go out there, the surface is just too slippery for anything else.

I also had some tuning problems, heatsoaked fuel and very low battery voltage (logged 11v at the finish line) made for an interesting combination of weak ingition and overly rich mixtures from voltage compensation mapping.

Now that DCCC has the gear to do trap speeds we need a trophy for top MPH, to me that is a trophy worth having! (better than a dyno one).

Again I gotta say the motorsport events were the best i had been to of this kind. The Khana was a "first time" for the marshal and orgainisers and to their credit it was the most organised and best flowing event to date.

The DCCC guys were much friendlier this time round, and despite some questionable commentary even appeared to appreciate the predominantly "efi turbo" nature of the toyota scene.

They communicated well and worked hard for us - you gotta love your drag racing to marshal all day and not drive, its a thankless dusty / smokey long hot day in the sun- so thanks to DCCC!

    Matt
Dubbo local dropping in to say thanks for letting me join in on the drags with you guys, you have some seriously quick cars, you were lucky with the weather as it stopped raining in time for the weekend and started again on the tuesday after, i will pass your thanks onto the guys from the dccc for and yea your right they are a very dedicated bunch of blokes to official all day without racing themselves.

The weather for the weekend was amazing much better then the prior year which was woeful. As for letting the locals joining the drags if it wasn't for you guys making up the numbers we wouldn't of had the drags at all. So just a big a thanks goes to all the guys who came out to race and support us.

It adds a bit of healthy rivalry to the mix and makes the day more entertaining.
