It was purchased with the expectation it was a stock LSD and this is what we got . We prefer the stock Torsen LSD so this has to go

hmm, GX90 and GX100 and GXE10 have all the holes in the outer tabs drilled (top right)..
but GX71 doesn't.. must be GX71 housing or similar early model? later model has dowels(altezza only?) and extra holes

Yes it is a IS200 housing with Torsen replaced with TRD LSD?? that's just stock IS200 fare

the JZX series LSD housings (internal bits) i saw on yahoo looked almost identical , except they didn't have the round holes in the side of the LSD casing... the other casting/machining looked almost same.

JZX90/100 are G series, S/GXE10 IS200s are F series (both are marked as A on the build plates though I think)

I'd pick is as a TRD diff as well, cast casing is a giveaway...agricultural as well apparently

Just out of curiosity, can I ask why you don't like the clutch plate lsd and prefer the torsen?
I have a trd 2 way in my AE86, which I like, all my previous cars have had clutch plate lsd's which I like, I have an AE111 daily which has a torsen fitted and I don't like at all in the wet....lsd, what lsd!!!, having said that tho, the other week I took it around the track and it worked well, but it was dry.
