Default R154 Box'. Does this look right?

    Hey guys,
Been having problems with my clutch for ages, ripped out the box for the third time and realised this:

It looks like whatever was back there (some kind of collar to hold the input shaft?) has either been munching the back of the release bearing or it was one whole piece and has shiered off? The input shaft does ever so slightly wobble side to side. What are peoples opinion on this?

edit: oh one of them backwards clutches my bad
that doesn't look pretty at all...

should look like rigth hand side of this... so..

bearing jammed up, span it's carrier which then grabbed onto the bit that is supposed to be sticking out, and eventually ripped it off...
    at a guess

    how is the release bearing?

yeah is the release bearing seized. are you using a button clutch too, it looks like clutch material where the snout has sheared off.

Nope, release bearing is moving fine. Ive been running it like this for 6+ months and worked perfectly aslong as i didnt rev it over 5k rpm otherwise it would act weird. Nope just been using organic stuff.
So whats the go, is the whole input shaft gone or can the metal ring and bearing be replaced?

Edit: Oh so it was one whole piece which has snapped off and part of it is stuck in the bearing?

get a new front plate for the box. Knock the old sleeve out of the hub assembly, clean up the inside of the tube to make sure there's no bits that will catch on the new shaft. If it's not salvagable then a new hub is about $90 from toyota from memory.

most likely. The bearing is supposed to run on that shaft so you're gonna either need to see if someone can repair it or replace the cover like the one in the picture on right that oldcorollas put up. the material in the picture must be from the snout then.

Ahh ok i getcha. How the feck would that have happened!? lol. Just went back in the garage and slid the rest of the tube out of the bearing :\
Would this mean i would need a new bearing aswell?

the R154 bearing mounts in the actual pressure plate as it's a pull-type clutch. The hub in your picture attaches to the bearing with the big circlips.
