PowerFC does not allow adjustment of ISCV (idle speed control valve) in relation to temperature as far as I know (JZA70 R is able confirm).

If the engine isn't running smoothly with a stock ECU, you have issues elsewhere, either the ECU itself - common with the JZA70 - or less likely with ground, power (battery) or sensors, in that order.

So yeah... best thing to do is to source a spare _working_ ECU for testing purposes or replace the capacitors and hope it does resolve the issue.

    Hope that helps.

The powerfc unit itself uses a common pinout for all non vvti JZ vehicles (A70 A80 X81 X90 Z30 & possibly more) the yellow loom adapter is what dictates which vehicle it suits. The unit itself is designed for and natively fits the Z30/X90. Further to that a JZA70 powerfc can start and run a JZZ30 soarer without the use of the loom adapter. Im assuming here the same can be said for each model combination providing the correct loom converter is used.

Correct. However it does let you adjust ignition timing and fuel injection against intake and water temperature.

You need to be more specific in regards to describing the problems you're experiencing... what exactly happens? (if ive missed it sorry)

Generally if your car isnt operating 100% then there is something wrong, and buying aftermarket parts hoping that they will fix it isnt really the solution. You need to isolate the problem first.

    thanks JZA70R.
I'm not going into the problems here because this thread was only intended to identify the engine and what power fc to buy.
I've been told by my mechanic the ECU has problems. I don't know how he tested it out.
Originally I was going to go to Power FC, but now i'll keep it budget and either fix the ECU or get a replacement 2nd hand.
First I'm going to check the capacitors in the ECU. Then if that doesn't work, try someone else's stock computer and see if that is the problem.

If you have a grounding issue, you will know about it. It not only will be hard to start but it will run pretty shit too.
