In hindsight I think I may have re-plugged that and just wired it in separately...
Hey all,
I need to setup my reverse lights to work with my W58 over the weekend.
i have the plug hanging off the box with 2 pins, but i cannot find any info on toymods on what wires to connect that plug to....
The loom in the glovebox for the body/ECU is all still there i just have no info on how to connect the body loom to the W58.
Helps ?
In hindsight I think I may have re-plugged that and just wired it in separately...

Well obviously the box needs 1 wire going to the plug on it , that carrys 12v, so when in reverse it creates a circuit, this i can do no worries in about 10 mins.
but what wire from where connects to the other splade fitting on the gearbox plug to complete the circuit to the reverse lights, thats where im stuck on.
Is it near the shifter hole ?
Is it in the glove box with the other body loom wiring ?
is it in the engine bay fusebox area?
and most importantly ,... wtf colour is this wire?
HALPS
i'd also like to know this, as my hazard lights suck big wang for reversing
lookin at some diagrams with MattAE86 , thanks to Cruzsida...
I believe im looking for a Red wire with a Blue stripe or a White wire with a Blue stripe.
these should be on the "large flat" interface plug that is above my ECU.
will post results.
How much of the original auto loom do you have left, or do you still have the loom attached to the auto gearbox?
There would have been two plugs on the gearbox, a small one and a bigger one. The smaller one is for the P/N switch and the other is the gear position indicator (for the ECU, dash lights and also reverse lights). You should be able to work out which one is for reverse from the larger plug and then you can splice it to the reverse switch on the manual gearbox.
im guessing its still all on the auto box
possibly.
But being attached to the autobox , what help does that provide?
as i need to find teh one in the body loom that runs to the globes at the back,
i can find 12v from anywhere to goto the plug on the W58 , but the issue is finding the wire thats in the body loom (near ecu) that leads to the globes at rear.
Ill attempt to find this Red - Blue stripe wire when i get home from work.
If they are attached to the gearbox, you would be able to trace them to the nearest connector left on the car and then you should be able to figure out which one leads to the lights (unlees its a massive connector).
What was on the donor engine/gearbox or were they not connected?
From memory the plugs you are looking for are in the engine bay, near the battery / chassis rail.
Ignition voltage will be easy to find on that plug (multimeter).
Reverse will be easy also, remove reverse light bulbs and use a multimeter at the reverse lights and check each pin in turn on the plugs.
Otherwise I can check when I get home on the 4th of Jan
Cheers

The reverse light plug is located in the engine bay near the fuse box. I can't remember what the plug looks like but its part of the auto loom in the engine bay.
Can't afford it?... Don't buy/drive it...

update for the sake of helping others.
RED wire BLUE trace is located in glovebox area above ECU,
Ran 12v from battery to swtich in GB, switch out from GB to the RED w/ Blue trace.
Works awesome.
Ah! beat me to it... I had this same issue with the RA60 manual conversion recently... same solution
