Bah... I dont read all of coFF33's threads - I just breeze over them cos most of them are just filled with crap bagging his car, his hair cut, or his sexuality...
Sorry - I must have missed the bit where he changed the clutch Doh

    Heya

Just a thought - are you sure you're moving enough fluid volume to get the slave cyl functioning properly? You said the clutch pedal adjustment cannot go any further - is it possible that the master cyl is half compressed or something?

Alternately is the slave cyl significantly larger than the old one?

    Cheers

    Hey glytch,

The slave is the same, as the original its not a toyota slave but its the same size etc, aftermarket.

I do think also that it could be the master i put in from an MA61, but at the same time how does one know if the master is only "half compressed" ?

and by that do you mean the master plunger thing inside is already half way long the shaft therefore im only pushing it the rest of the way?

This is a good theory ? but wouldnt bleeding from the slave slowly, making sure the pedal is raised to the maximum after each press fix this ?

You haven't got the inlet from the master and the bleed nipple around the wrong way on the slave have you? Seen that done before and the clutch still worked just not very well, may well be preventing fluid flowing back to the master.

Pull the boot back of the master cyl, make sure the piston is all the way back to the circlip, if not disconnect it from the pedal, if its not returning it sounds like the master cyl is stuffed, slave will be ok if its not leaking, if its back bleed it by opening the bleeder and let it run until no air comes out, dont pump. if thats ok readjust the pedal, you
should just have play between push rod and piston, GL

When your bleeding does the pedal return on its own to the maximum out position?

Rodi : the master cyl is brand new as is the slave

Cuzzo: yeah as there is "springs" attached to the pedal inside the cabin (to pull it back to original posi)

do you mean the boot off the back of the master cyl (like where the rod enters it, inside cabin drivers footwell?) and make sure the rod/pistons are as far back as they can go.?

    Coff,

when you say youve adjusted the rod to be almost falling off the nut could you try bleed it with the rod fully shorterned at the master...maybe your adjustment is stopping the pistion from fully returning to the start of the master (like rodi is trying to tell you to look at)

Exactly - If the piston isn't travelling the full length of the cylinder that could be your problem.

    And problem solved.
thankyou all for all your help that gave me the will and courage to actually take a look at it .

funny enough, that the problem was so basic , no one could have thorught of it....

    check out this pic

i had the gold pin that the safety pin + pull back spring connect to.. through the LOWER hole on the pedal arm, and simply moving it to the upper hole fixed absoloutely everything.

once again thanks all that posted.

hope this might help someone out in the future....
