What box does a manual 7MGTE run?

Hey guys just need a bit of help.... just wondering what box does a manual 7mgte run and how much should you be expecting to pay for one. Cheers guys your help would be great.

r154, about $1500 available with different bellhousings so make sure you get the right one, also you need flywheel etc and this differs depending on the motor the box originally came from.

can use a w58, these are from the non turbo 7mge but depending on your application they may be an option. wouldn't recommend for spirited driving, heavy car, high power, any of those things

The 1JZ-GTE manual would run a R154 also yes.

There are also different versions of the gearbox which have different shifter positions.

You can also use a W58 with an M bellhousing. These can be found on MA61's.

my MA61 7mgte has a W55 behind it at the moment, seems fine been there 10,000klms. I know its not ideal but R154's are ridiculusly overpriced
depends on wether you want to drag, drift etc or just cruise!

I agree that R154s are very expensive, but often they are available as a complete manual conversion with tailshaft etc so that makes them more reasonably priced.

Normally you'll buy a W58 by itself and have to source flywheel, clutch, custom tailshaft, pedals, etc etc separately... then once you add the fact that if it breaks you might have to buy a second one, new oil, and do all the labour again... then spending extra on the r154 isn't a bad idea.
