looks like some sort of housing?.. pritty hard to tell from those pics, what hoses go near where the stain is?.. make sure there not leaking down a hose and trickling off making you think its that bolt
Hi guys,
I've got coolant leaking but I'm not sure what it's from, or rather what to call this thing.
It's at the back of the water pump but I don't know if it's still part of the water pump or not.
Can someone with more knowledge than me (everyone lol) tell me what it's called?
It's a 4A-GE.
In the first (zoomed pic) it looks like a plug of some sort with a seal possibly. I'm thinking I can just replace that bolt thingy + put on gasket goo and I'll be right?
Cheers

Isn't that from the little steel bypass tube, sealed with O-ring on each end, that goes between the pump and the head's coolant outlet? Must be rusted through judging by the color, or rusted enough that its O-ring surface is NFG.
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
yep it looks like the steel bypass tube has a fubar o-ring or simply rusted through. I would recommend removing it and cleaning up the o-ring surface and fitting a new o-ring.
