    Question 1ggte mounts

this is my first post on the nw forum.

i was just wondering if anyone has any drawings they may have done when putting a 1ggte into their st141 or RT142 etc... i just really dont have a clue how i'm going to make these mounts without seeing what is needed first. i want to try and get the engine in, in a weekend. I know it prob wont happen but the more i can get ready before the car is off the road the better.
Naturally the mounts i will need to make will have to be road legal as i'm using the car as my daily. If no one has drawing would they atleast be able to describe what is required... All useful info is welcome.... also if u are unsure please say rather than stating what your cousins friends ex bf told ya as a fact... it just makes things easier for everyone

    cheers

oh yeah and am i dreaming thinking i am going to be able to get insurance for this... i'm 19, green P's and have had no prior accidents or fines.

thankyou for any help on the conversion.

dude it's not hard to make engine mounts lower the enigne in the bay as you would like it to be mounted and cut bits of carbord for a ruff templet then cut the steel to the same size and weld there your done oh yeh 1/4 inch steel plate is your friend

im getting insurance thru just car with a 1ggte in a ke70 corolla and im 17 with a poor driving record.
only paying 438 for 3rd party fire and theft

and dude, just use the stock engine mounts, and make a adapter plate to weld to the current crossmember...

that was a quote i got from just car insurance
car isnt on the road yet tho. but all the details where specified and thats what they came back with. its dear for 3rd party fire and theft, but its cheap for a corolla with a supra motor
i think the saving grace is the age of the car

Yeah thanks all for your help, It makes me feel a bit at ease with everyone saying it's not to hard to do.
I'm not so sure about the welding part though. are you sure that an engineer will pass me.

i'll have a bit more of a look around and post more questions when they come up.

I think you missed the point, I was refering to the reputation system the forums runs, not just your respect. :-)

Gotta keep people sharing knowledge, that's what it's designed to do.
