    Default YN85R 2y to 1uz lux

Hi guys, im a new member of the forums considering a engine upgrade for my 2y 1.8litre 5speed powered 96 hilux The plate says it's a YN85R she's got 300k+ on the clock (all put on there by me it was my old work ute they gave me as part of a super pay out i didnt get...long story) and i am about to be towing a 20ft ski boat.
So as you can imagine the old girl is a bit tired and will struggle. So i have been reading up on the 1uz conversion, and was kinda put off about the mod requireing sump mods and so on. Till i read that CRS have a modded sump available. It's kind of expensive but i think for a mechanially challenged person such as myself it's a necessity.

Can anyone verify that this sump negates the sway bar mod's i have seen some people need to do ? Also have read that the brake booster needs to be changed or modded, is this the case for all modded lux's or not. Seems like every model has had different problem's and im hopeing to keep this as clean as possible and quick as possible and of cause cheap as possible. Being a 5 speed im wanting to keep it that way...not sure what model the gearbox is though sorry. So yeah thoughts oppinions and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

    Saw these on ebay today

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Hilux-to-V8-1...d=p3286.c0.m14

He has a little bit of info in his description about the sump.

CRS also do a bell housing from 1uz to various gearboxes.
I am currently putting a 1uz into a 4wd hilux and got a bellhousing to go to a "toyota" 5 speed with an engine and other crap I bought, although I am not sure what gearbox it adapts to.

You will also want the log manifolds from the toyota crown as they will fit the best, I have a set of these as well that I may not be using.

    Good luck with the conversion.

Yeah saw those myself the other day will keep an eye on them, thanx. Will be a while b4 it gets started, the boat get's first priority at the moment as it's a stage 2 and needs to be put together itself.....LS1 and so on. So for the time being im trying to find out as much as i can for the conversion and working out the costs and so on. Thanx for the quick reply and good luck with your conversion also.
