Um does a club really want to do something like that, I don't think so. If it was found out or leaked ie ppl talking about it on other forums, then the club would have a shitty reputation and not be favourably viewed by the law for supporting illegal activities.

Edit: and do we restrict this just to anyone whos signed up ie there was over 10,000 forum members on the old forums and this one continuosly gorws haven't looked for a while last time I did it was well over 1000.

On a small forum setup by a mate of mine we have a closed off section to discuss the forums, where we want them to go, and also get togethers etc, but for a forum this size it just wouldn't work, that forum has 100 registered members and only 10-20 regulars ie the circle of friends.

No problems, I went and had a look once I finished replying to this thread and removed the thread about GTA. I was more wondering if there were any other threads that prompted this and the GTA one just pushed you over the edge.

There were a few other mentions of stuff in other threads in NCD, as well as some Gen Car threads. But this irked me the most as it was so blatant, and i figured that if a precedent wasnt set now then it would be harder to set one later.

The internet is a public place.
Just like a cafe, a road, or wherever.
The big difference between the internet and your usual public places is that your own confessions can be overheard long after they're said.
Just be aware of that. Anyone can figure out who you are, fairly easily. As a test I once googled somone's forum account. I ended up with their real name and address.
They were farily surprised that they'd let that much info slip.

Apparently he aided someones suicide but thats another story , Myne you raise very valid points that, what you write can be viewed by anyone anywhere and assuming you don't edit it or the treads deleted then its there for a long time too.

No, I don't mind. However, I have only two email addresses - my ISP address and a Yahoo email address. I've had both of these email addresses for many years, and no other email addy.

I've always been "river" and have never used any of those other aliases you've mentioned.

I have the usual default web-space provided to me by my ISP but I rarely use it - probably 'cos I don't know how and each time I FTP to it I get some dumbass error.

I have no web sites, no Celica sites... anything. I have never modded forum, even in the heady days when I was doing the Gorean thing around many sites.

So, I'd say your specialist googling-search skills have let you down big time. Either that, or I'm a slippery customer.

Exactly, and i, for one, am glad that the club as a whole has taken this stance.
