Default RN90 Hilux 22R wont select OD

    Hey guys,
Just a little help needed guys, if someone could point me in the right direction that'd be great. The Auto on my RN90 hilux will not select OD. Obviously the OD switch works but im not sure where to start.
    Cheers.

i assume this a stock engine and trans.
    Stock hiluxs arnt my forte.
Unless it has a CRS kit with a 304 lol

maybe the over drive switch has come unplugged?
    Switch has shit its self.
if its kick down style it may need adjusting. (cable from throttle body to the trans)
sounds silly also but have u checked the oil level? but being just over drive i doubt this is the problem.

    hope that helps.

just some quick checks to do.

I also am no hilux expert however I do know that the missus Rav4 won't go into over drive until the engine has reached a certain temperature. Perhaps it could be one of the coolant sensors has come loose or gone kaput.

I presume it runs the same tranny as the MX 62 Cressida(A43D)if so check the solenoid on the passenger side of the box.It should have a single wire coming off this as the solenoid earths to the box itself.Find this wire and disconnect it from the loom and plug a jumper wire into it and put it to straight 12V and you should hear the solenoid engage or check to see that the wire hasnt broken off the top of the solenoid.
If all this works then your O/D switch is stuffed.
    Cheers Brett.

The solonoids can become intermitant , Check to hear if it clicks when you apply power to it .
