Could be a 2C diesel one as well. I thought there were some pics on the toycrazy website but can't seem to find them.

as per the title - does anyone have a picture of a 2S bellhousing or some measurements of the engine side? I've not had much luck searching for a pic.
I have a mystery bell-housing in the shed - only identifying mark is a '2' near the top.
I think it's an 2S but i have nothing to compare it to. I can post some pics and measurements tonight if it helps.
The gearbox side is W58.
Could be a 2C diesel one as well. I thought there were some pics on the toycrazy website but can't seem to find them.

There were some comparison pics of the 2S vs the 3Y bellhousing a while back. NFI if they are still up, but it was one of the RWD 3S threads.

3Y is the measurements crossed out I believe. (3Y bellhousing is pictured)
I did the 3Y measurements, Joel added the 2S pretty sure
2S starter is on passenger side (Opposite of pictured)
Cheers

Thanks for that wilbo!
... looking at that, I'm quite confident that mine is not a Y or an S .

It isn't S or Y you say. (Did a quick Gimp overlay and it doesn't look like the holes like up real well with my Y pic..., but most of the measurements are close... btw not so important if you ask me to measure distance to starter motor holes, and it looks like you are missing the block upper right to block middle right measurement?)
It isn't R, clutch fork is on wrong side.
It isn't J, doesn't have the breather at the top.
It could be G?
It could be 3TGTE? (Not sure on starter motor / clutch fork side)
It could be M?
Cheers
Wilbo
i highly doubt it is a 2C unit as the starter mounting is on the same side as what i have now.
sorry - can get more measurements tonight - I noted them down last night but ran out of enthusiasm to post the pic
i think 3TGTE has clutch on other side (no idea about starter). Was speaking with Craig tonight and he said his starter was on intake side.
It could be G as the starter is on that side?
spare M motor is still in brisbane so not quite able to compare. Will check iPhoto for old photos of us doing the 7M sump swap.
Depth could be important - the thing stands 169mm high (when laid down on flywheel face) and is obviously taller than my J-W5x bell so would need a longer input shaft or thicker flywheel ... maybe it's from a diesel?
revised pic showing extra measurements (two tall measurements are with base flat, lines are only approximate but it could be used to calculate angle of block rotation - approx 3 degrees)
For reference, 1/2JZ NA versus unknown bellhousing (looking at gearbox face).
edit: JZ bellhousing is 142mm from engine to gearbox face (versus 169 for the unknown unit).

Have you looked hard enough for the secret stamp of origin?
Its on the same plane as where the bolt heads are, and its very very faint (very faint casting, looks like a casting mark)

I'll check tomorrow but am fairly sure is the only mark:
(hi-res here)
Is up the top - similar spot to where the JZ bellhousing has its identifier.
Not 3T-GTE, that definitely has clutch on drivers side, could be G and I am sure there a pics here somewhere for one of those.

thanks Callum: looks pretty much like Cruzida's pic above (annoyingly, I had a G motor in storage for ages but I never lined them up together).
That 1G bellhousing above definitely has a little 'G' much like the '2', but it was around the side somewhere, not at the top.
