I had major issue's with fitting decent size thermo fans in my ga23 wi excel rad, had a look at a lot fans, as far as i could tell their are SFA factory fans that are suitable for this kind of setup, many of them have low profile blade sections but very deep motors, usually 100mm+
I had 55mm of space for the snout of the fan motor between the rad/intercooler,(just fouled on the davies craig thin 10") So i ended up getting two of the el-crapo chinese 10" fans for $30 each, grinding the sides flat so i could >just< fit it in there. So far no heating issues, keeps the car at about 75c when idling on a 30c day, may struggle a bit on a really hot day but that why they invented water sprays!

I did find a 16" thermo fan out of late 80"s merc eir con core that was only about 45mm thick(Spal brand) but was way too wide for my application, may work for you though.
If you can fit them the AU falcon fans are awesome. have them on my work truck
