    Default 2JZ NA-T Hardware Selection/Advice & Feedback Required

Hey guys, this car probably isnt to the tastes of most forum members on here but has a few tasty JDM pieces added.

I'm Shane from Newcastle and I work in the steelmaking industry as a metallurgical engineer.

    I have a 2002 Lexus IS300 with a 2JZ-GE (unfortunately with the A350E 5spd AT)

I have extensively modified everything on the car except for the engine. My missus has lost her license for 6 months for speeding and I have a new VW jetta TDI co car at my disposal.

Since my car wont be getting much roadtime I figured I might as well take advantage of the downtime and get around to doing a NA-T install on my IS300

Here is my current mod list:

    Suspension:

Tom’s Advox Comfort Coilovers, these were recently replaced with Tein Flex with EDFC (10Kg F/8Kg R)
    TRD Front Chassis Brace
    Tom's Rear Chassis Brace
Pro Lex Performance Front strut brace
TRD Yellow Race sway bars (F&R)
    TRD Control Arm's

    Rims & Tyres:

    Advan Kreuzer V’s 19 x 8 +38’s with 225/35 Kumho Ecsta SPT’s all round.

    Stereo:

Eclipse AVN 6000 Head Unit (Satnav, DVD, Reverse Camera, 5V Preouts etc etc)
    DLS Nobelium 6.2 6.5” splits
    DLS Ultimate A3 & A4 Amps
JL Audio 10W7 Sub Custom moulded fibreglass enclosure
Stinger Pro/Expert series cabling, RCA’s etc
Heaps of Dynamat Extreme Sound deadening
Custom JDM Double din dash Fascia
DB Link O Gauge battery terminals with LED voltage display
DB Link Fuse block, distribution block
    Custom FHRX Studios Earthing Kit
    Optima D34M battery

    Intake/Exhaust:

Joe Z black anodised intake pipe with blue silicon flanges (I want to replace these for black flanges)
    HKS Foam Panel filter
TRD Hi Response Ver S Exhaust

    Minor Mods:

    GREDDY C/F Air Diversion Panel
    Lexus Sports Front Grille
Pro Lex performance Header Heat Shield
    JDM Style radio antennae
    Gold Badges
    JDM Dash Console
    JDM headlights with halos

    Body Mods:

    Full Genuine C West Bodykit
    Rolled guards

I have been happy with the car as is but its now serious to get some decent power out of this thing. I am aiming for 240KWATW on low boost and 300@16psi.

My budget at this stage is $10k min with a majority of the work being installed by mates, and the full exhaust and FMIC piping custom done by my mate for mate rates..

    Ok here is my list:

    Custom NA-T Kit:

    FMIC 900 (Greddy core $400 600 x 280 x 75mm, custom piping)
    Tial 50mm BOV 300
    ECU 750 (Haltech E8)
    TURBO $2-3K (Turbonetics GTK 650/Garrett T04Z-HKS T04Z)
    Oil lines 250
    manifold 450
    injectors 700
    ARP head stud 200
    fuel pump 225 (Walboro)
    head gasket 300
    downpipe 200
    midpipe 200
    spark plugs 120
    waste gate 500 (Tial 44mm)
    oil drain 100
    fuel return kit 250
    sard fpr 200
B&m tranny cooler with custom hydraulic hose $400
HKS oil cooler with oil filter relocation $650
    Blitz shadow gauges (oil press/temp/boost)

    *GTE pistons/rods TBA*

I need help with the following

    1. Determining what turbo will suit my needs?
    2. What top feed high imp injectors in the 540-800cc range fit the 2jz-ge rail? Or if I went with siemens injectors what fuel rail mods would be required?
    3. Is a haltech E8 ecu from a JZ80 supra compatible with my IS300 (same wiring harness as supra?)

Any feedback help suggestions would be appreciated!

    Cheers

    Shane

any reason you dont wanna put a gte in it?

if you are keeping the auto im going to guess that with that sort of power you will need more than just a tranny cooler, it will need some real work.

A 2JZGTE conversion is a lot of hassle. It brings in a lot of unknowns to the equation i.e unknown history of motor kms age service history. Then there is the hassle of raplacing all the wiring electrical and auxillary components.

I have a 2JZ GE already, the block can handle as much power as a GTE (the gas motorsports supra runs a GE block albeit with squirters drilled) and the GE head will flow 600HP easily.

From what I have seen on the US forums the IS300 guys run 400RWHP (on a cheater US dyno) easily on the A350E with a cooler and sprag upgrade.

you'll need to find someone who has done it before and tuned it before.
ive seen plenty done on normal GE's but no VVTI's which may make thinks harder.

as for picking the turbo what ares your plans?
    dragger or streeter?

So you think tuning with the vvti may be troublesome?

Well 90% street 10% drags. Would be nice to run 16psi daily and then bump up the boost up to 20-24psi for the drags/circuit...
