    Default advice on crossmember damage

hello recently bought a car that had been guttered. the struts, steering arms, etc. seem to be okay, but the pics below detail the damage to the lower control arm pivot point on the engine crossmember.

question being; with the setup on this crossmember (ra60) the bracket that holds the lower control arm is held in by 2 welds. now i would like to keep the crossmember in it that is in there now, as it has non-standard engine mounts on it. can i get the bracket that holds the lower control arm in cut out and cut one from another crossmember and get it welded onto my current one the same as factory?

    Is it cracked or bent?

If bent you should be able to straighten it up with a pursuada(hammer)

I'm not a proffesional but i straightend my RA65 LCA mount and 4 race meetings and over 50 laps its still fine. i think you will be fine with hammering it back to its original position.

Bend it back and if its cracked weld it where needed.

The only load it normally holds is is out and there isn't much forward and back load on it (a mild amount but not much)

    Cheers

yup still 22re and going strong. I just can't break the thing. over revved it lots a time.

Mate my aim is talent over power once i get my timmings down to being as quick as a vl tubo with slicks, then i might change the 22e with something that makes 200hp.

I get alot of my motivation from a mate who has a bog stock N/A VL lapping 2 seconds slower than said turbo VL with slicks. Only thing he has done is suspension mods, No engine mods, No exhaust, No cold intake and semi slick and has backet loads of Talent.
