I've got my sump with windage tray at home... I'll dig it out and take a pic tonight / this weekend.
now to drag up this discussion again i would like to add that my rwd 3s is now suffering oil pressure loss while sliding and even hard cornering right.
I have the old 185 sump and am keen to mod it to fix this problem, as dry sump is a bit extreme for my weekend warrior.
What do yo think of this? 1st i'll flatten the back part of the sump to clear my x-member, the 2s sump i'm using is very flat along the rear part, then i''ll cut out the floor of the pickup area, make wing extentions either side to give approx 2litres extra capacity, and fit 4 individual doors with a 1/4" gap just in case something doesent open properly?
Has any one else tried modding a fwd sump for a 2s x-member? is there any other clearance and fitting issues i havent thought of? ie: does the straight 2s pickup go through the hole ment for the angled 3s pickup?

where are you taking the oil pressure readings from 1st also you need to take head off and put in a plug into head with a 2mm hole to supply oil to head as they have a std size hole of 6mm from memory ,to much oil sitting up in the head the new rwd 3sge has a restrictor built in to the head gasket for these models
ps dont take oil pressure from the back of the head ,by the time you get the reading it will be very low put a remote oil filter adapter on and take oil pressure from this
I have been taking the preesure from the back of the head, and am using a late model head gasket with restrictor too. i've fixed most of my surge problems by baffling the oil return from the turbos, but this is only a short term fix.
I am still going ahead with the custom sump and have taken pics of my project and hope you find it interesting![]()
First i took some mesurements and clearances, and made a cardboard model.
I have incorporated wings and angled them in by 30deg.
This is a sump from a 5sfe that will donate itself to the cause, retaining the full horizontal baffle. i have marked it dowm 25mm to cut the sump off at.

My custom 3S sump (touch wood) seems to be doing a good job.. Lots of track time and never seen the oil pressure gauge dip.
