I'm confused is it turbo, supercharged or both?
If turbo: Have you checked the actuator, if its working?
wandering why wastgate jammed open on silver top 4a-gze
running 25lb in mannifold
sc12 blower andi think turbo is toyota 26

both. previous owner aparently modified it!
he made the rod longer that keeps it open
how does the plumbing work on your intake?
wouldn't mind having a look at your set up if posting a picture isn't so much of an hassle?
Is there a cut of point where the Turbo takes over from the SC12 or they both work simulteniously?
Does your actuator rod move in and out freely? Have you pulled the dump pipe off to have a look?
would the pressure from the sc12 be activating the wastegate acuator to be open by any chance?
so from low revs when the sc12 has hit boost, this boost would make it to the waste gate and therefore open the valve and rendering the turbo useless. which inturn would make the turbo gain no possitive boost cause the comp blades arnt spinning?
do you understand what i mean? usually with these twin setups the sc will cut off once the turbo has hit boost. i remeber reading a mini had somthing like this kept a nice even amount of pressure throughout the rev range
RaaaH23: i agree with you, but chances are his got a boost controller installed?
gday fellez
ive pulled the turbo off and found that the rod for the actuator has been lenthend
so that the wastgate is about 1/4 open it works still when ive plugged the air line in
its got no boost controller
the sc boosts to about 3500 then turbo takes over
im thinking of blocking standard w/g and installing external w/g any thoughts?
was that a mini or a moke you read about
sorry guys im not that mechanically minded. just wandering why they did it that way
You will need a different manifold for external waste gate.

and regarding the mini it was actually a golf tsi that had the twin set up sorry for the confusion

...better jammed open then closed....
if you readjust the length youll overboost and destroy your motor...so external wastegate for the win...
Rotaries are cool...so why are their owners such cocks>>?
thanks guys
will post pics soon when its all sorted
hopefully before nats
