Default 3VZ-FE Head Bolt Type & Size

What type bolt is it? its not a normal hex head but more sides?
    11mm or 12mm?

Do I just need to use a special socket for it? like 12 point socket

Pretty sure you will just need a 12mm 12 point socket.

Yes, 12-point socket but I think the bolts are not reusable as they are the stretch type. Someone else might be able to confirm.

as luck would have it i removed some yesterday, 12mm 12 point socket, and they are torque to yeild meaning they have to be replaced

also, dont forget the hex bolt at the front of the right hand bank and the back of the left hand bank

You buy them as a set. Go onto ebay and look up Ultracheap auto parts or Ultracheapauto. I purchased a set for my Hiace for half what repco wanted. Ultrach...... are at Kempsey or Grafton NSW and mail out. Ultrach...... is their ebay name but the store has another name. There are three businesses in the one shop to cut costs.

Also, I was at an engine reconditioners and he was offering the bolt sets at less than half of Ultrac...... Unfortuneatley I had already purchased mine from Ultrac.....
