    Default 2jzgte into a gx61

    Hey Everyone, hows it going?

Ive been trawling the forums over here in NZ and it seems like your the guys to ask so here i go.
Ive brought a 2jzgte from an aristo and plan on slotting it into my mark 2 gx61. Now ive heard that i may have a problem with the rear turbo hitting the clutch master cylinder. Ive seen some pictures off norbies site where hes put in a Ford Cortina master but thats in a ma61 and im not sure if i will have the same problem.

Any help from you guys over the ditch would be great!!!!

Can't say I've ever seen or heard of it being done.
You could be in unchartered waters there.
I'd personally be more worried about the turbos and/or dump pipe hitting the steering box though.

And just personal opinion here, but the X6 is an ugly car, find an X3 or X7 and put it in that.

I disagree on the X6 being ugly, we aren't talking the Oz spec rubbish.

The most elegant solution to this problem is to convert to a decent sized single turbo

Lol thanks callum. I quite like that photo of my car apart from the 7" mk 2s, they look like they have no dish

I really want to avoid a big single turbo at this point as i really want to be towing my mates boat up north at christmas with this and that will just put me back to much.

Is there a guy on here called giantomato thats done this conversion before?

He has done 2jzge (non turbo) into a MK2 (a proper MK2... a MX13? or was it MX22/3? My memory isn't real flash ). You should be able to find his members thread ride for it...

Another problem that you may have with the 2JZGTE and its stock turbo's is the steering box and clearance... when I had my MX62 I measured up a few different front crossmembers looking at an easy option to fit rack and pinion steering...

    I can tell you MA61, RA6x and MX73 don't fit up...

    lol at proper mk2!!

I will have to see about the steering box when it comes to it but Brendon from A1 turbos over here seems to think it will be ok. But if worse comes to worse, i might look at a gz10 rack and pinion set up

Ok thats good 2 know. How close was it, possible to redrill?

Even if its not a bolt in affair but the rack is the right length, i might just weld on the brackets and bolt it in then mod the column to suit. Ill see when it comes to it

So, so so not a bolt in from my memory.

I'll post up a pic with measurements of MX62 when I get a chance...

I recall a thread quite a while ago where we tried to get a few xmembers measured up, I think Cruz did xA6x? Might be worth trying to find it...

Went around to Sheepers (not sure if hes on these forums) and did some measuring of his 1jzgte in his ra23 and it looks like its going be close but worthy of trying it in the hole before i do anything.

But in the case is dosnt fit with the box steering, we measured up and ae86 rack and member and that will work with some redrilling.
