7MGTE Dies

I've thrown a 7MGTE into my MX83 but before I pulled it out of the donor car, it took a few turns for it to run properly. You would start it, idle for a few seconds then die. After a few shots, it would idle and run fine.

Now that the motor is in the Cressida, it has the same problem but it always stalls after a few seconds. The fuel pump is still buzzing away after it dies so its not that.

Could it be the injector ballast?

It doesn't run long enough for me to check the codes. Can you check em while the ignition is on?

Check for codes any way.

codes will generate even if its not running, its probably not getting a rpm signal or something and telling the computer to cut ignition or such like.

I found out that it dies whilst the spark is going.

If I rev it a bit, it'll stay running a few seconds more but it'll die anyway.

yes try another afm or at least the electronics in your afm body, and make sure yours is currently connected.

Yeah its conected. What I don't understand is why it worked before and now it doesn't.

I tried a 1UZ AFM and its still the same. I've checked the wiring and the earths that relate to the AFM.

are you trying new electronics that are known to work with the different afm or just the body with your electronics in it?

at idle if i unplug my afm the car still runs but drops revs and it cant be reved fast or driven.

what happens if you start your car with the afm unplugged, it stills dies?

I've change the electronics once. I tried the 1UZ electronics this afternoon.

If I unplug the AFM it will sort of start but it won't run like it would with it plugged in.

d-master it might help if you know of some one with a simillar ecu as yours to swap and check to see if the ecu is faulty.
