    Pictures as promised...

    Writing on the module:

    Nippon Denso
    Part no.

    I'm pretty confident this is the original dizzy, the wiring loom was factory and matches the dizzy exactly.

    well that IS new... i've never seen one of those before.

    Anyway, i can tell you that the black wire with orange stripe (B-O) is DEFINITELY ignition power.
    The solid black wire looks like the coil trigger.
    The ignitor must earth thru the metal housing of the dissy and then thru the engine block.

    Acutally... the terminals are labelled dude
    B = IGN 12V+
    C = coil -ve

    Enjoy.
    ...... butt scratcher?!

    Hmm, intriguing. I shall venture under the bonnet of the TA61 in the backyard this weekend to see if it is similar.

    So for anyone trying to get internal ignition for their 2T just needs to order the parts (numbers above in previous post) and not worry about custom conversions, Cool!

    interesting find - tho this this makes it slightly more difficult to attach an non-OEM ECU to the dizzi.

    Quite the contrary, this was originally running on a Toyota 2TGEU computer, and I have very simpily connected it to a Haltech E8; add +ve to the black wire and connect the B/O wire to the trigger input on the Haltech. The diagnostics of the Haltech are showing that it is getting a nice clear Trigger signal, but you have to run this set-up with no Home signal.

    but you then need another ignitor to drive the coil if you want the ECU to do spark control?

    I'm assuming that this dizzi has no mechanical/vacuum advance mechanisms?

    (also, my choice of ECU prefers something from a VR or Hall Effect signal)

    In it's original state, the dizzy still had a mechanical/vacuum advance. With the Haltech ECU, the advance had been disabled by removing the weights, and an external haltech igniter module added to run the coil and the advance controlled by the Haltech ecu.

    intersting......ive never seen one of those.
    If u wanted to change it ive got an old 2tg dissy with a hall effect sensor in it.
    that way you could run a bosch BIM027 module and would give a stronger spark.

    so many ways you can run ignition.

    im running a haltech crank sensor on my crank pulley with 2 magnets so i run waste spark.
