Again by looking at norbies calculator I can see that by changing my speedo from 637 to 675 my speedo reading will be nearly spot on. Mmmmm, anybody know what car had a 675 speedo as standard?
Hi guys,
I've recently changed over my w50 for a w5x box, running good but the speedo drive is over reading. Using norbies speedo drive calculator I can see that I should be using a 35/10 drive gear rather then the 32/10 thats in the box to get a correct speedo reading. I've tried changing it over for my friends 35/10 drive gear but it wont slide onto the internal gear, it seems too big, it is larger than the 32/10 gear thats standard. Has anybody had success in a similiar speedo gear change? Thanks maurice.

I've mentioned in the past and taken pics as well I think... but there are at least 2 different sized gears for W5x speedo gears.
As long as you keep them as a matched pair, that is use the inner gearbox gear with the same matching outer gearbox gear they work fine...
An amount of work is involved in changing the inner gearbox gear however...
Cheers

Thanks Wilbo, that amount of work is what i'm trying to avoid. I've found out that you can go 31-33 on a 10 32 ill try a 33 next and then see where I am.
