They do seem really good on the street though.

I'm not speaking from personal experience.. just what I've heard.
with ~220rwkw and less weight, I'm assuming they wouldn't get too much of a horrible workout on the lux?
that's why I was asking if the tyres were doing dual duties. If not, just bite the bullet and get some Kuhmo V70As, some Federal 595 RS-Rs (the 140 wear rating ones), Toyo R888 or some such reasonably priced semi slick. Reviews have them as a step up from the Falkens which seem on par with the Kuhmo K36.

or just buy some used slicks
semis have the advantage on not having to find someone to carry your spares down to the track for you though
but yeah, second hand slicks are also an option.
So is linden definitely out now or is he doing the last minute dash still?
Oh and i wouldnt drive anywhere far on semi's. Had some "interesting" moments with them just around my streets. Gutter / car / gutter / car / tankslap off throttle.
linden's out
and he's got a ute.. he can stick his spares in there for the trip down![]()

Only issue is they wear pretty quick.
The old Federal 595RS were good, I was very impressed with them and now I have the RSR's which are a big improvement again. Reasonably priced too.

Hmm well mine were pretty cold and the road very slightly wet and there was no grip at all. Obviously i was being a bit silly at the time however they didnt react the same as my street tyres. That said they are 20mm thinner.

RS-R's are on the list when i get back.
Yeah Linden has given up his spot, hadn't heard from Ed but did throw a comment his direction that the wait list was empty if he was a chance of a last minute call up...
