    Default GX81 & 1jz conversion

I'v got a 1988 GX81 that i have to do a 1jz conversion on in the next few weeks. Just wanting to know if they have the same crossmembers as the later model gx81/jzx81's. Or will i have to swap it out for a later model crossmember.

    Any help appreciated

When I did the 1J swap in my 1988 GX81 GT, the crossmember was slightly different to the jzx81 crossmember I bolted into it. The GX crossmember was more similar to a series 1 MX83

jzx81 crossmember is the easiest. I've got a set of jzx81 alloy engine brackets to sell if you start with a non-jzx81 or jzx90 engine.
